100th Follower Giveaway Contest!

You're invited to my 100th follower party! I'm having a giveaway contest celebrating that there are now 100 followers of Eternity Cafe. Thanks to Carolyne of Lady on a Roof for being my 100th follower. Well, at least 100th in the blogworld. I'm also most grateful to the 100+ subscribers who receive my blogposts via email.

I'm giving away the bestselling book, The Hole in Our Gospel by Rich Stearns. This book, awarded the 2010 Christian Book of the Year by the Evangelical Christian Publishers Association, is a compelling account of how a CEO struggled to obey God at all costs. It challenges us to do the same. This book is a life-changer.

To enter the contest, simply leave a comment and share either why you want to receive this book OR how something you read on Eternity Cafe has impacted you. Each comment, either here on the blog OR on facebook, will count as an entry. Commenting in both places will count for two entries.

Okay, here's how you enter:
1) To enter: Leave a comment with your email address. Entries without an email address are not eligible. (If you are commenting on facebook, you can send your email address privately via message.)
2) To enter you must either be a current Follower or Subscriber OR become a Follower or Subscriber. (Please let me know if you have been or just became a Follower/Subscriber.)
3) Receive a bonus entry by posting about this giveaway on your blog, facebook and/or Twitter. Please be sure to let me know you did so in your comment.
3) The contest is open to residents of the U.S. and is void where prohibited.
4) Deadline: Saturday, 2/26/11, at midnight. Winners will be notified via email, and an announcement will be posted on the blog.

Disclaimer: Neither the publisher nor the author provides this book or requested this giveaway.

I thank you for being a part of my world. You have blessed me greatly. It is my prayer that this blog will bless you in some way and encourage you to walk strong for God, providing bits of humor along the way. And if you have been blessed, please share it with a friend.

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ.

Hey Susan,

I'm so honored to have been your 100th subscriber; thanks for the shout out ;)

The book sounds relatable and I can think of a lot of people here in NYC who would really benefit from this book, including myself.

Hi Susan,
It was nice to read that Jesus is your Savior! It's good by reading blogs passing blogs like yours. My English is not very well but every time I read about Jesus it's like I get a little pressent from heaven.

Hi Susan,
Thanks for following me as well! I look forward to knowing you better.

As for your comment on the nook - I talked my nearly blind mom into getting one (advanced glaucoma) and she can read again! I love reading from my nook app on my Blackberry while I jog on my aero-glide. The readout makes a perfect place to lay my phone! Makes exercise MUCH better.

Hi Susan,

Congratulations on your 100th subscriber…wow!! I don’t get to your blog often, lazily just reading your email versions as they come in each day. Enjoy them during my morning Daily Office.

Your series for the “Advent Countdown” was very enjoyable, as I was going thru my own countdown at the same time…retirement the day after Christmas. I looked forward to it every day, knowing you’d have a pertinent thought for the day.

However, my favorite message, was within your “i am” series about Jimmy the Servant. As you know, I have my own “angel unawares” living with us, my son Kevin who has Down Syndrome. God put him with us 36 years ago as He knew I needed to be more humble, and every day Kevin reminded me, praying for me thru all my frailties. He knows he’s handicapped and doesn’t have the strength of “normal people” so he goes to the Lord in prayer for his power. Jimmy serves that way too, reminding all of those interacting with him, to be humble and to serve. So every time I see Jimmy, I know the Lord felt I needed an extra shot of humility that day. Thank you for describing it so well. That message was read and re-read, not without perspiring eyeballs, quite a few times. Hopefully, you’ll keep adding to that series as new ideas and people cross your path.

Your Eternity Café ministry is a blessing to all of us privileged to share. It’s always a pleasure to pick up a cup and come in, quietly, to read of His love, as you so creatively present. God Bless. Steve

Steve -

You gave me "perspiring eyeballs" too! Thanks so much for your encouraging words. They mean more than words can say. Sending off blogposts to the great unknown often leaves me wondering how people receive what I share. So I greatly appreciate comments or email replies that let me know when I connect with the reader.

I plan to resume my "i am" series very shortly. I already have over 10 posts in draft. Some other people you know ;) You, Jan and Kevin alway inspire me so as the Lord leads, I may be contacting you for permission to share.

Much love,
Susan
