Tired of retailers rushing Christmas? So are these guys:
"Nutcrackers before Thanksgiving? An embarassment!"
Every time I see that commercial, I just crack up!
And yet here I am talking about Christmas for 40 days!
But, as I said, it's not about the Christmas spirit-- it's about the Holy Spirit!
Last year, my friend, Lisa, was asked, as we all have been asked,
"Are you ready for Christmas?"
She responded, "Yes, because Christmas is about Jesus, and I'm ready for Him."
Are you ready for Him?
"Be dressed ready for service and keep your lamps burning, like men waiting for their master to return from a wedding banquet, so that when he comes and knocks they can immediately open the door for him. Luke 12:35-36

I like this! I get sick of all the Christmas things starting up early, but your friend Lisa has the right response!
Short and sweet. I love it! Thank you Susan, and thank you Lisa.
It was serendipitous to find your church and worship with you on Sunday. We checked your blog and will visit it periodically. We will also add your email address to our list – “notes from the road.” After leaving your church, we spent the next 30 hours on Long Island but were not able to visit Peggy’s relatives. Mon we got a load assignment from Ohio to Kansas and left L.I. about 1 p.m.
I have never been on the "Nutcracker" bandwagon. They look a little scary to me.
But, what a GREAT response Lisa has for being ready.
Gives me goosebumps!
